There were
reports of vehicle break-ins on Gladstone and Kings Hwy this
weekend. Unlocked cars were targeted, as well as a vehicle in
an unlocked garage. Additionally, a Toyota was stolen from the
driveway of a residence on Taylorsville Rd, where the keys were left
in the ignition, with a purse on the front seat.
Please do
not leave your valuables in the car. Never leave your keys in
the car!! Lock your garages, as well as your cars. Call
the police cell phone (432-8900) as soon as you see or hear anything
suspicious. If your dog starts barking for no apparent reason,
pay attention to it!
Be
Safe,
Chief
Renzi

I would like to invite
everyone to a “meet the police” meeting next
Wednesday, November

Christ, 2300

Doup side of the property. This is an
opportunity for everyone to meet the Strathmoor police officers and
to voice any concerns or problems you may
have regarding Public Safety. We hope to have regular meetings
of this type in the future, so that we may address any police issues
you may have and make any necessary procedural changes that will
help us improve the effectiveness our department and improve our
working relationship with the community.Feel free to bring your family members, and
please tell your neighbors who may not be on the email list to come
too. Anyone attending who is not on the list will have an
opportunity to sign up at the
meeting.
See you
there!

Hey
Everyone,
I just wanted
to advise everyone that an arrest has been made in connection with
several burglaries in the area, including a recent burglary on
Lowell Ave in Strathmoor Village. He is suspected of
committing 10 -12 more burglaries in the area. The
investigation is continuing, and additional charges will probably be
forthcoming.
I don’t think
he would have been picked up so soon if not for some great
investigative work by Strathmoor Officer Mike Petra. Mike
joined our Department in August, and we are very lucky to have him
on board. Thanks a bunch, Mike, for an outstanding
job!
Regards, Chief Renzi,

continue to escalate daytime patrols during the peak burglary
period. Call the duty officer on the cell phone @

At the May 5,
2008 City meeting we regretably accepted the resignation of Chief
Jeff Carter who has served our community in outstanding
fashion. Jeff accepted a new position with the Kentucky
Department of Advocacy. He will be missed by many. The
Commission appointed Jeff's replacement --Joe Renzi, former
long-time Chief of Police at Graymoor/Devondale who recently retired
(and he thought he was going to rest). We are very fortunate
and very honored to have a man of Joe's caliber now serving as your
new Police Chief.

NOTE from our new Police Chief Joe
Renzi
In an
effort to improve communication between the Police Department and
our residents, we have added a cellular phone for the duty officer to carrry. This number (432-8900) will enable residents to have easy
access to an officer without having to talk to an answering machine
eliminating potential confusion often involving important
information. It will also eliminate the necessity for having
to make additional calls to residents who may need an officer in a
timely manner.saving both time and confusion which has often been
the case with the pager.
In the event that a call is received
via the cellular phone and it is not picked up by an officer within
20 seconds, the call will automatically be forwarded to the
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Dispatcher, who will be able to
provide prompt police service for the
complaint. Until this cancellation in about 6 months, the
pager will instruct residents to contact the police cell
phone.
